Our Service
kalapata Travel is a local tour operator based in Peru, which offers a booking, consulting and coordinating service by preparing tailor-made itineraries. We handle bookings and payments on your behalf with a selection of various independent suppliers, such as hotels, restaurants, airlines and other means of transportation, private guides and other services specified in the itinerary; that even though are not under our direct control, provide a high quality service.
Insurance
Kalapata Travel , including their representatives, employees and agents will take no responsibility for any cost, losses incurred or suffered by the guest, or guests´ dependents or traveling companions, with regards to but not limited to, any of the eventualities mentioned above. Travelers will be charged directly by the relevant service providers for any emergency services they may require, for other services not covered by the insurance, travelers will be charged under the same procedure. We also advise travelers to visit their physicians to be up to date with vaccines and address any concerns regarding international traveling.
We highly recommend you have travel insurance for your trip to Peru.
Travel Documents
It is your responsibility to ensure you have a valid passport and meet all necessary entry requirements of our country. These vary by country and nationality and can change from time to time. Peruvian Sunrise will do its best to inform you of these general requirements, but we ask that you contact the corresponding embassy/consulate in your country of residence, to confirm documentation you need.
Privacy
Your personal privacy is important for us. When you make a reservation with us, we ask you to provide us with personal information such as your name, address, city, state, zip, phone number, birth date, destinations to which you would like to travel and travel activities of interest to you. Peruvian Sunrise Co. is required to collect personal information (such as passport details) in order to plan your trip. We understand the sensitive nature of this information and will not share it with third parties (other than as required for booking airplane, hotel or other reservations as a part of the trip) without your express written permission. By providing your initial deposit, you are allowing Kalapata Travel to collect and use your personal information as required for planning your trip and providing you with the proper services.
Health
By sending us your initial deposit you certify you do not have any physical condition that would make traveling unsafe for you or other travelers. It is your responsibility to ensure you have received all appropriate vaccinations and are aware of the risk involved in traveling to high altitudes.
Limitation of liability, release and indemnity
Kalapata Travel Co. acts as an intermediary between clients and carefully selected service providers. We purchase hotel accommodations, transportation, restaurant and other services from various independent suppliers. All such persons and entities are independent contractors independently owned and managed.
The Client by engaging Kalapata Travel and making full payment for the specified service agrees that Kalapata Travel cannot be held responsible for delays, damages, accidents, personal injuries, illness, acts of war, strikes or other labor, overbooking or downgrading of services, mechanical or other failure referring to the means of transportation or any activities or circumstances beyond our control and that any refund will be sought directly from the service provider. Moreover, it is not liable for any negligent or willful act of any such person or entity or of any third person.
Domestic flights or trains are, occasionally, subject to overbooking, cancellation and schedule changes. If this occurs, we will do everything in our power to assist you in boarding flights or finding alternate arrangements. It must be stressed that this is done as a courtesy to our clients and we cannot be held responsible for denied boarding; neither for the additional costs thus incurred, nor for payments not recovered for missed arrangements due to delays or cancellations.
Payment, cancellation and refund policies
PAYMENT
- A deposit of 30% of the total price of the trip is required to confirm the booking
- The remaining amount (70%) is due thirty (30) days prior to the beginning of the trip.
CANCELLATIONS
- Between 45 days prior to the start of the trip, there will be a full refund except for $150 fees.
- Between 30 and 45 days, there will be a 70% refund of the total payment.
- Between 15 and 29 days, a refund of the 50% of the total payment.
- Between 7 and 14 days, a refund of the 20% of the total payment and the ones made 6 days before the trip there will be no refund.
- If the deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, cancellation must be made previously.
- Postponement and Cancellation of Domestic Flights
The domestic flights have their own terms and conditions and they are excluded from the general cancellation policy. Flights can be postponed to another date paying an extra fee to the airline (client has to bear the costs). In case of cancellation, we will have to charge the client a fee of $75.00 US / person / route.. - Postponement and Cancellation Inca Trail
For the Inca Trail (02 and 04 days), there is an entrance fee of $150 US, which we have to pay to the Peruvian government. The date of this entrance fee cannot be changed neither the ticket can be transferred to another person. Hence, the entrance fee will be lost in any case of postponement or cancellation of your trip and the client will have to bear the cost. - Postponement and Cancellation Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu & Machu Picchu Montaña
For the Machu Picchu Entrance Ticket, $ 50 per person is non-refundable in the event of cancellation. In case of cancellation of the entrance ticket to Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Montaña, $ 60 per person is non-refundable. It is also not possible to change the booked date or the names of the travelers once tickets are purchased. These rules are set by the National Ministry of Culture (INC – Instituto Nacional de la Cultura).
